As a medical service of the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), the first mission of the Service of Medical Informatics is to improve the quality, the safety and the effectiveness of healthcare using innovative computer-based tools.

Attached to the School of Medicine of the Geneva University, the Service of Medical Informatics also works to advance research in this discipline, and to teach it to medical students and post-graduate trainees.
